1941 Railway Age ad
Posted by 3rdgenmodrr on Sunday, July 27, 2014 11:37 PM
Hi all,

I'm looking for some information on a specific ad from a 1941 Railway Age magazine. The ad in question (a portion of it) was published in the Summer 2012 issue of Classic Trains (I don't have the issue handy or I'd note the page number). Specifically, it's the ad with the headline "A New Era with General Motors Diesels". It pictures five E-Units near Washington Union Station, I believe, and has even been made into a metal sign.

I'm looking for an original ad and was wondering what issue of Railway Age it appeared in. I've searched far and wide on the web, auction sites, memorabilia shows, etc to locate one and I'm just not finding anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dale

The ad appeared in the 1941 "Locomotive Cyclopedia" as a fold out in full colour.

This book was reproduced in the 1970s, I believe and copies may be in Libraries.
