Hello All:
I am attempting to keep the siderail attaching screws on my 2025 from loosening every time I run it. Then I'm faced with having to search the layout for the parts once they have fallen off (the bushing and the long screw). The longer screw that attaches to the middle driver always seems to loosen on me due to its constant turning. I was thinking of using blue thread locker liquid on the thread portion only, but was worried about never being able to loosen them if I need to service the unit at a later date. Any advice on what your experience has taught you pertaining to such a problem? Is there another glue that is more forgiving?
Thanks for Your Help: Mickey
You may have this site confused with the "Classic Toy Trains" site, but I'll try to answer your question.
I'd use one of the "Loc-Tite" products, however use the variety that will let you loosen the screw easily as opposed to locking it in permanently. Check with the hardware store folks to be sure, but it should say so on the product label.
Remember, all thread lockers are not the same.
Regardless of which mag., the choice of LocTite's "blue" thread locker would be good. Their product is #242. Used it on small screws for frames on glasses. ron

Sorry about using the wrong forum.

No problem buddy, hope we were of some help!
Honestly, I think there's very few people on the "Classic Trains" site that DON'T have a train set somewhere in the house.
From a automotive standpoint - use Blue Loctite for parts you want to be able to take apart later. Use Red loctite for parts you want to stay together 'forever'. Red loctite can be defeated by the application of serious heat.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
