Trainfest is primarily a model railroad/toy train operating layout show, but there are also historical societies taking part, as wel as various vendors and manufacturers. It is NOT a swap meet. The website is www.Trainfest.com
For several years now Keith Schmidt and I have organized a TRAINS.com forum gathering for those attending Trainfest as a chance to meet in person and get to put a face with a screen name. This goes back to when Erik Bergstrom was our Forum moderator. You have to be a veteran of these Forums to remember when Erik even arranged for Forum Member T shirts. I still have mine.
Keith can find photos for this gathering back to 2005 so this is probably the 8th Annual.
This year Trainfest is being held Saturday November 9th and Sunday the 10th from 9am to 5:30pm. It will take place at Wisconsin State Fair Park at the Wisconsin Expo Center.
The plan as in the past is to have those members interested in joining in the photo please show up at the Kalmbach Publishing booth at 12 noon on Saturday November 9th. This isn't just for Model Railroader or Trains or any other particular magazine forums members, but any member of any of the forums be they modeling, or railfan. Please join us.
In the past we have had guests from Kalmbach magazines join us in the photo.
Below is the photo from Trainfest 2012, taken by Pat Shaver. As you can see Jim Hediger was nice enough to join us.

We're giving that post a good bump so it rises to the top again
So, how was the event?
Trainfest was jam packed when we took the photo Saturday at noon. It was less crowded Sunday when the weather was not bad and the Packers were playing, Here is the 2013 photo.
