Santa Cruz, California "street running"

For railfans the area encompassed here is akin to Sunday buffet brunch at a Michelin 5-Star restaurant. 

For street running, Oakland's Jack London Square.

For Bart, check out the Oakland West station on 7th St. near Adeline St. All trains from any East Bay Line funnel thru it 'bout a mile before entering the tunnel under the bay accessing the city, SF.

Napa...of course the Wine Train.

Between....a couple of hours at the Martinez depot: Capitol Corrider and look-a-like San Joaquins, freights and industry jobs, Amtrak, enjoy!

Google Earth Hercules CA. Go north to the river and follow the rails leftward, west, and you' find a classic Bay Area photo location: at the shore is the track on which I ran trains, where I worked (it's what we called the Cal-P) but on the bluff you'll see you're next to the Santa Fe, yes, BNSF and a street did dead-end right there where the two main-tracks were closest.

Please take every opportunity to find out what you can about this area you've described. 

In Niles Canyon there's a wondrous collection of railroad hardware at Brightside...google earth it...the Pacific  Locomotive Assosc.

Around the Concord station you should have several vantage points for photographing BART trains outside of tunnels.   There are other locations, I am sure, but that is one that seems excellent with good backgrounds.

Beside the  "street runing" of the Santa Cruz Big Trees and Pacific Railway going through/over the Boardwalk, are they still other trains(freight) passing over the Boardwalk?

I found some pictutures of freight trains going through the Boardwalk.

Are they other points of railroading intrest in the vicinity  of Napa, San Francisco, Santa Cruz?

Where  can I see the BART trains running in daylight?(I saw somewhere a picture of a BART train running between a highway)

I will be in Napa and will go also to Oakland to see "street running" Amtrack trains.

Can someone give me more information?
