Sure...saw them lashed up this way delivering the City of St. Louis to KCUS in the early '60's.
In later years, it wasn't all that uncommon for Wabash to mix E's with boiler GP9s, so its pretty likely the E7s and E8s ran together. I don't think Wabash Es or PAs had nose MU, so they would have had to run back to back. I have seen at least one photo of PAs MU'd with Es.
Did the Wabash RR ever mix E7 and E8 units in the same consist?
