What was the ebay auction number. I would like to see a picture of the watercolor. I'll bet it's really nice.

The first of two original Howard Fogg paintings are now on eBay!..Everyone I have spoken with about these paintings are unsure of their value because so few, if any are in circulation.

Thank you Bowlerp!...Good suggestions, I had a Fine Arts dealer look at them in Denver, They are authentic, he has a client who offered $5,000 for both. I was told by an antique dealer that they're worth more...These were aquired from the estate of a good friend of Howard Fogg. They both lived here in Boulder Co...I think you have a good idea- to put them on ebay.....Thanks!

Easy to find out: There is a man who always advertises in TRAINS classifieds to buy originals of the artist. Take some really good digital photos or film prints or slides and contact him. Or you could post them on eBay with a high reserve and see what happens. I don' think I'd do that until establishing some information about the true provenance of the paintings. First, make darn sure they are signed originals and not fakes. I know that toward the end of his life Ted Rose watercolor railroad paintings sold for $3-5,000 and up. Fogg has been dead longer and the value may be even higher, way, way higher to a collector. At any rate, nothing to take lightly.
