Just asking, but did anyone notice the celebrity E8 in the photo of the day "Sunny Day In Cincinnati"? If my eyes have not failed me the lead unit is C & O E8 4012 of which Rivarossi made an HO scale model of in the early 1960s and I, for one, still have.
One day while going west on route 60 outside Newport News, VA, I noticed a C & O passenger train headed my way so I stopped to take a picture. This would have been in 1967 when I was stationed at NAS Norfolk & had a car. I don't remember where I was headed, but I turned around & chased her taking many pictures in the process! I never would have thought I would ever see the real life 4012!!
Anyone out there have a similar experience with 4012 or other scale model? This is a memory I still have, including my favorite 4012 shot hanging up on a wall at home!
