I suggest that you obtain a copy of "Northern Pacific Railway Diesel Era, 1945-1970 by Schrenk and Frey, Golden West Books, 1988. The Northern Pacific had two Radio Controlled Units, RCU-1 (X-6010C) and RCU2 (X-6007C). Pages 225, 226, and 227 have a history of those units. The article suggests that they were not used east of Mandan, ND due to the relative level grades. I never saw one at Northtown and I would visit the Northtown Roundhouse every chance I got.
