Thank you very much for the answer. This explain why it is almost unknown.

According to the book "The Steam Liners" by Kevin Holland, Pacific #1146 was the closest IC came to a streamlined steam loco and it was the only one. It had wide running board skirts similar to a Daylight, and some pilot sheeting to fill in the area between the smokebox and pilot beam but little beyond that. There's one picture of it in the book. It was used in the late 40s on the Fulton Ky. to Louisville connecting section of the City of New Orleans.

Sebastiano:

You might want to direct your question to some Illinois Central specialists on the Illinois Central Yahoo Groups.

I found in a book (IC railroad: 1854-1960 photo archive) a picture of a semi streamlined pacific. I was surprised, as you mostly only find Mountains when looking for IC steam.

How many streamlined steam engines did IC have? Where, when and wich trains did they pull? Why are so little known?
How would you modell it (I was thinking to 'just paint' a IHC semistreamlined pacific)? With heavyweight or streamlined light cars?

Thank you
