Need a photo or photos of these "streamlined" non-air-conditioned trains, that have three, four, or five cars, with only the front and rear truck powered, diesel at each end, driving through mechanical transmission with gear changing.

I think some VT12.5, later first class 612 were used in Israel...

These were in fact diesel hydraulic with fully automatic gearboxes.
