NYC Rider Coach
Posted by train18393 on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 1:17 AM

Greetings,

I am building a Rider Coach out of a HO Branchline coach, which would be correct for some of the 27XX rider coaches that the NYC rebuilt out of older cars. I have installed panels to blank out windows, fuel filler for stoves, as well as several other modifications that they obviously did in the process. I was wondering if the shops added bulkheads at the end of the 12 window sections in the cars at the end of the blanked out windows? I have several resources, but I could not find floor plans of these cars, nor any pictures of the interior. The next stop is the NYC Historical Socitey, but I thought I may be able to get a quick answer here.
