Hi everyone,
I would like to know, did U.S. Military RR. equipment have 'Poling-Pockets,' as the Civilian RR's. had?
Thank you,
Ralph
If I remember what I saw real and in pictures, yes...military railroad was/is standard compatable adapted to country and gauge..
RIDEWITHMEHENRY is the name for our almost monthly day of riding trains and transit in either the NYCity or Philadelphia areas including all commuter lines, Amtrak, subways, light rail and trolleys, bus and ferries when warranted. No fees, just let us know you want to join the ride and pay your fares. Ask to be on our email list or find us on FB as RIDEWITHMEHENRY (all caps) to get descriptions of each outing.
Thank you Henry,
I wasn't sure, because sometimes the government does different, compared to the standards they set for civilian operations.
No, that only applies to (political snide remarks deleted).
Henry,
I know what you mean.
Train-O Henry, I know what you mean. Ralph

After a fast look most of these photos do not show poling pockets.
THis link to a Thread on the TRAINS Forum may be of interest? (about the art of 'Poling')
