DOES ANYONE KNOW THE DERIVATION OF THE NAME "MARS LIGHT"? HAS IT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CANDY COMPANY?

The answer to that question is "yes and no".  There was a link between the candy company and the Mars Signal Light Company in that one of the candy company owners helped launch the signal light company.
