Does anyone know what kind of coaches was used? I bought my wife the HO model of the J611 and we would like the complete it with the coaches

Buck, you show it better than I could tell it. A J would have pulled almost any of the passenger cars, and also most of the baggage cars.  I doubt that any wood car, the Pullman Dinwiddie County,  and the cars that were not originally N&W were ever pulled by a J in regular service.

J's did regularly pull lightweight Budd silver coaches on the Tennesean.   These were first matched with heavyweight Pullmans painted silver to match the stainless Budd's, but later were replaced with lightwieghts.   This was Southern Railway equipment, with the J's pulling the train over the N&W Monroe - Bristol.
