Lionel Diesel Horn Shed
Posted by lwalker756 on Saturday, December 4, 2010 11:57 AM

I have a Lionel Diesel Horn Shed that has a dark brown base. I have not found another like it in any of the research I have done, including viewing my postwar catalog. I sold the item on Ebay but the customer thought it was a whistle shed so he will return it shortly. I need more info on it to be able to sell it confidently, such as the number and era and why it is the only dark brown based one I have found. Can anyone help please. Thank you very much.

Iwalker756,

I bought one, sometime in the '70's when Model Products Corporation, a subsidiary of General Mills, owned Lionel and put out the Diesel Horn Shed.  It is now a past type of classical item, but I don't know if it has any collectors' value.
That's all I know of it.

You would get more info. on the "Classic Toy Train" Forum, which is affiliated with this site.

Take Care,

Ralph
