What railroads were served by Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Union Station? Or was it all Pennsy? Thanks.
Just the Pennsy, according to Bill Vandervoort's excellent website.

Well, yes and no. When built (1898-1903), Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Union Station served several subsidiary lines in addition to their parent PRR. One major subsidiary was the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne & Chicago.
An interesting bit of trivia about this station is that the names of New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Pittsburg are inscribed on the inside of the four pillars supporting the portico. Note the missing 'h". That was correct at the time the building was constructed but the city fathers restored the 'h' a few years later. Locals insist that there are many Pittsburgs (CA, TX, and Ontario for starters) but only one Pittsburgh.
I worked in that building in the mid-70s as part of the Central Region GM's staff. My office was on the 9th Floor (the one with the arched windows). I understand the building has been converted to apartments. Given the size of the rooms I remember and the high ceilings, I'm sure they're unique.
