According to George Drury's "Guide to North American Steam Locomotives" there were two locomotives numbered DL&W 1154. the first was a 4-6-2 "Pacific" type passenger locomotive built by Alco Schenectady in 1913 as one of a batch of seven, 1151-1157. Drury suggests that this class was rebuilt during 1929 to 1935 as 0-8-0s numbered in the 200 series. The second 1154 was a 4-6-4 built by Alco Schenectady in 1937. One of this class was exhibited at the New York World's Fair, in 1939-40, numbered 1940. This is most likely the one photographed. They were taken out of service in 1951-52.

I hope this is some help,

Peter

I have a slide of DL&W locomotive 1154 taken in the early fifities. Can anyone give me additional information about this locomotive? I had no luck in my Internet search.

Thanks!
