Judging by the HO-gauge Mantua models remembered of 50 years ago, and my first-hand experience with survivors of these short open-platform cars on the CN-owned Quebec - St. Joachim interurban operation on the CN line to Murray Bay, they were drop-equalizer trucks with leaf springs between the bolster and the equalizer or bottom of the frame and coil springs between the top frame and the equalizer, a pretty typical passenger car four-wheel truck.  These trucks may not have been original, however.  On the Quebec line they appeared all-steel, yet the originals may have had wood frames.   One of these cars, used as trailers behind interurban motor cars on the Quebec line, but possibly once used in CN mainline service, is at the Seashore Trolley Musuem in Kennebunkport, and their Guidebook may have a more detailed description and a manufacturer's name.
