Title of a comprehensive routing and schedule for passenger service
Posted by The Commodore on Sunday, February 21, 2010 11:12 AM

Got a mental block this morning.  What was the title of the book that all passenger and travel agents used to arrange routing and tickets?   Would appreciate an answer and I know that a lot of your readers of forum will know the answer.

all the best,

michael

Known as "The Guide" or "The Official Guide".  Name: "The Official Guide of The Railways and Steam Navigation Lines  of the United States, Porto Rico, Canada, Mexico and Cuba; Also Timetables of Railroads in Central America, Air-Line Schedules".  At least that's the title page of the June 1958 edition sitting before me.

RIDEWITHMEHENRY is the name for our almost monthly day of riding trains and transit in either the NYCity or Philadelphia areas including all commuter lines, Amtrak, subways, light rail and trolleys, bus and ferries when warranted. No fees, just let us know you want to join the ride and pay your fares. Ask to be on our email list or find us on FB as RIDEWITHMEHENRY (all caps) to get descriptions of each outing.
