How does 19 hours late translate into "two days late"?; it arrived less than one day late The train arrived less than three days after it left Emeryville--and Amtrak's practices were not the cause of the delays. As has been said on at least one other thread, the news media can be notoriously inaccurate when it comes to reporting railroad events.

Its not Amtrak's fault?  Seems they ran out of water, had understaffed stations, the dining room didn't have food - you should watch the video.  I don't think the people submitting themselves to the horror of Amtrak were lying.  Personally - my experiences with Amtrak - and this is first class are dreadful.  It is a bureaucratic nightmare and total inemptly run company.  And a waste of tha taxpayer's money.  Not that I'm saying airlines are better.  But to travel in the USA by Amtrak or airlines is an ordeal.   12 hours late on some train qualifies it for the "train from hell."  But its not alone - Amtrak operates a train from hell almost monthly.  At the tax payer's expense.
