Louisiana & Arkansas "Hustler"
Posted by Fritzi on Thursday, September 4, 2008 4:40 PM

Does anyone have information regarding the consist of the Louisiana & Arkansas "Hustler" which ran from Shreveport to New Orleans back in the 1930's and maybe into the 1940's?

I know the last car was a standard (with trussrods, no less) parlor-observation-buffet car based on photos in the old Locomotive Quarterly.  Anyone have lnowledge where plans for that car could be obtained?

Suggest you contact the KCS Historical Society at www.kcshs@kcshs.org They'd be your best bet to find the info you want about the Hustler.

P.S. I tried the link above and it doesn't seem to work so search for the KCS Historical Society on Google and contact them using the link shown on their home page.

It looks like you merged the website address http://www.kcshs.org/
with their email address kcshs@kcshs.org

Michael, did you ever get an answer to your inquiry about consist and the two solarium lounge cars used on the Hustler built to Pullman plan 4027A.

I know this is two years old, but I just started using this forum.
