...and I don't often get to this forum.  It get's so little traffic that I don't bother looking.

Here's an idea, though; since you know who we are (our names appear in green font in the list of currently logged users) when we are logged on, please send us a pm or an email.  Or, if it gets particularly offensive or annoying, simply use the "report abuse" link in the corner of the offending post.

Thanks.

Crandell,
I see someone finally got your attention. It's about time. Now, why in the world would you take on a job and then "don't bother looking" at it?

People who post here about "classic trains" have been asking you, politey, for a long time to do something about getting the model railroaders to ask their "model" questions at a place that is much better suited to answer their "model" questions. Questions such as "What is my train worth?" and "How do I fix this?". They have even offered up ways for you to politely do this.

Now, it is time for you to "bother looking" and start "doing your job"!

Jim, we aren't meant to go sleuthing through the various forums looking for infractions, although we do act when we see them.  What caught my eye was when I logged on and saw the last post in this forum listed in small print...it was on the page with all the various forums listed that also shows who's on-line at the moment.  The post had the title asking the moderators to intervene.  In fact, it was the word moderator that drew me.  I had no other way of knowing that something was amiss.  We mods can't be everywhere, particularly when none of us is on line.  It so happens that at least three of us are frequenters of the model railroader forums since that is what interests us the most...and which not incidentally frequently has many of the 'issues'.

I am a "user" moderator, so I am permitted and encouraged to act as me old self to the extent possible...to blend in.  I don't "do" Classic Toy Trains either, and don't visit the kids forum unless it is out of curiosity and driven by boredom.  I am therefore unlikely to notice that something is wrong unless I am summoned to those outlying places.

It is always the best practice to send a pm or email to one of us, or report an abuse.  We are sure to do as you'd like us to do once we know what is happening.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

-Crandell
