Bought my son one of those Thomas Lionel sets and it has been the biggest dissapointments I have ever purchased.  First thing was the powerpack that came with it died.  Now after having a check up and then packed away it refuses to run.  I can sort of hold the locomotive and wiggle it and it will start up but when placed on the track correctly it will not run at all.  I have a pre war steam locomotive made by Lionel and a refurbe lionel transformer with the black and orange handles that is older than me that runs just fine. I guess quality has been tossed out the window?
Sean Steam is still king
