I don't see a transcontinental train in the lot. They all started in Chicago except for the Sunset which started in New Orleans.

They are all by definition, transcontinental trains.

I guess I am lucky enough to have ridden every route mentioned except for the SAN FRANCISCO CHIEF, My vote went to the CZ as it was the only train route that all of the most scenic route sections were traversed in daylight. Never actually rode the CZ from Oakland to Chicago instead I rode the ZEPHYRETTE between Oakland and Salt Lake City and the CZ from their east. Granted the ZEPHYRETTE was an RDC but I had the run of it and was able to ride up front with the engineerr for most of the daylight part of the trip. But scenery wise it was a fantastic trip.

It's only American trains because you know that CP's Canadian could blow them all away! But since you made it tough..I'm with GN-Rick. GN Empire Builder. I like pine trees!

Yeah, maybe CP´s Canadian and CN´s Super Continental would blow them all away, and this is the reason why I didn´t say North American but U.S. trains, cause most of the votes would probably go there........
