Sound Question For Train Simulator

  • I know about the camera angels you can download for Train Simulator, but my question is how do I keep the sound of the cars while in these camera views - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQFtyvwkrwc&feature=related, because I have this camera angel but I have no sound of the cars going by. I do get the sounds of Engines, but I don't get the sounds of the cars. That video above is not mine, but I brought up this subject because I hope someone knows what I'm talking about, and they can help me out. Thanks.

  • First, always make sure you're in an external view (2 or 3) before you switch to Yard view (7).

Second, all souns in MSTS have a range.  When the camera goes out of the range, the sound is silenced.  The Yard view isn't designed to have the "helicopter" camera so when you go out of range of sounds, they do not reactivate.  If you are always out of range, the best solution is to go into the .sms files for the sounds you're wanting (locos, rolling stock, crossing signals, etc) and increase the distance for deactivation.
