This is turning into a lot of work just to get to the numbers for which I actually have equipment. Smile, Wink & Grin

Here's one "borrowed" from an on-line ad for the Atlas MP15DC:

Unless we get stuck again, I'll be back for #156.  Right now, though, we're looking for #154.

This is a great thread, but I have a suggestion to improve it.

Instead of one number at a time, do a ranges of numbers.

For instance, Wayne posted # 156, and it could be in the range of 155-159 and it would follow a model in the 150-154 range. Next range would be 160-164 and so on.

I think this would make the thread more interesting because it would move faster and there would be fewer models "swiped" off the internet.

Anybody agree?

By the way ........... Wayne, I like your # 156 Jordan Spreader!

Well, we need something to keep it going a little faster:  we're at almost 16 pages and should be well past #200 by now, barring duplicates.  It's relatively easy to find something on-line if we get stuck, but I'm not really comfortable doing so.  I think that the pictures should be our own, but that can also be very restrictive:  I probably don't have more than 400 or 500 which could be used, but I'd probably be dead long before we got to most of them:  I have a few in the 100s, 200s and 300s, then I'm out of the picture until the 1200s.  Even then, my home road numbers don't exceed four digits (8900s), and most of my stuff based on real railroads would never make it:

There's a very good game on another Forum which I frequent:  it's called the Photography Game.  The rules are quite simple and any slip-ups are pointed out and corrected - very gentlemanly.  The photo must have been taken by the poster and it must be railroad related, either prototype or model.  Let's say my boxcar picture, above, was the first photo.  The next poster has to post something related to the previous picture, so acceptable photos could be any boxcar, real or model, anything lettered "Santa Fe", (real or model, train, truck, building, etc.) or anything railroad-related with the same number.  We're currently at 132 pages, and there are a lot of really interesting photos and matches - the matching numbers on mostly-prototype photos just blows my mind, as the photos range from present-day to ones taken 40 or 50 years ago. Those not even born when a photo was taken often jump in with current-day stuff or models, so pretty-well anybody who takes pictures of trains of any type can join in.

I'm not sure that it would fit here, though, as we don't really have a thread where the models co-mingle with prototype stuff.  You can check it out here, at The Photography Game

Thanks for your kind words. Smile  It's the Walthers model, slightly re-worked so that the blades can be posed, although they only swing out or in and can't be raised or lowered.

Remember when I was posting several in a day and folks complained we were moving to fast... Sigh

Last time a friend of mine (Mark Watson) and I tried to do this on another forum we ended up allowing folks to skip numbers and the topic died at #136 after 333 posts.  So trust me, we are doing FANTASTIC by not only getting farther but we have yet to skip a number.  Certainly it's great to use this to showcase our own stuff but for those of us that have been searching to find the number we are stuck on have seen some modeling sites that we may have never saw otherwise.

So, if we want to pick up the pace, that means several posts per day will start kicking in again...
