McQueen City and the Glittery Girl Mine on the McQLM RR

Posted by bline1
on Monday, February 18, 2013

McQueen City is the terminus of the line, at the mouth of the Ruby Canyon.  Full facilities for the railroad are found there, including switch tower, 3 stall roundhouse, coal tower and oil and water facilities and sand house, and wooden turntable.  Nearby are the gas factory and ten stamp mills at the Gold Pan station site associated with the Glittery Girl Mine complex.  The mine is connected by a simple short line which tunnels thru the background mountain.  McQueen City also features a brewery, freight complex, service crane, casket factory, paint factory, severals stores and houses, all arrayed along the falls and rapids of the South Platte River.
