Question for Kalmbach staff?
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 9:19 AM
Would anyone know or care to comment on what SCALE the new K-Line "G" equipment is?
1:20.3, 1:22.5, 1:24, 1:29......other ??
Even an approximate scale ????
There was a trains.com / Garden Railways press release here a few days ago, but no scale given, either here, or on K-Line website...K-Line does not answer this question by email.
thank you / Mike

Sorry about the delay, but I know the answer! I talked to K-Line last fall at the national Chicago Hobby show. They didn't seem to know what scale the products were--but since Bachmann is making the boxcars for them, it's safe to guess that they will probably be 1:20.3.

G scale is 1:22.5. HO scale is 1:87. To resize an HO-scale plan to G scale, you'd have to enlarge it to 387%. This can be done on some photocopiers or you can take it to a copy house like Kinkos and ask them to do the enlargement.
