Graycat's Prewar Gilbert O 3/16" layout

This is an overall shot of my 5'+ by 9' Prewar AF O gauge 3/16" layout. With very little exception everything on the board is Flyer/Gilbert prewar. The rolling stock showing is peppered with action cars and hard to find cars such as the cast pieces, the red based armored car unloader and the Pullman passenger cars in Tuscan. Produced for only about 4 years this segment of American Flyer is oftentimes overlooked. For me it's been a real treat to collect and operate these early 3/16" trains that are the older brothers to postwar S gauge.
