Is it just me, or did this seem to be an extra-long month this time?
Happy February first all. It's up to you all, but the amount of post aren't that many a month now, I suggest to go back to at least a new coffee pot once a year.

The cable to the odometer on the Nova was not making any noise when I took it for gas and a short ride yesterday, so who knows, will have to wait and see.

I know a few years ago OGR was trying but guess they had no takers, what a shame, that would of been a improvement over present ownership.
I'd rather go back to the days when I considered myself lucky if something O, S or Standard gauge showed up in MR rather than see CTT in non railfan hands.
Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered a set of Harry Potter coaches last week. Also ordered the Halloween version of the new Lionchief 2-4-2 steam locomotive. That pretty much uses up the 2024 train budget.

Forum maintenance doesn't seem to be in the budget. The real money is in other social media platforms.
I've received two Blu-ray's recently. One about Train Mountain in Oregon (The 2022 Triennieal) and one about the Canton St. Paul and Pacific live steam railroad.
Other than that, not much trainwise going on.
Mornin' folks. Sunny and rather mild in the Potomac Highlands. Taking advantage of the nice weather and working around Fifedom. Headed to the Washington County Ag Center (just north of Antietam) for the train show tomorrow morning.

This forum is so dead. But trying to get removed from it. Good luck. The CTT editor didn't even return my Email. There is no opt out provision. It says you have to call customer service. She said would call back in 2 days that was about 12 days ago. A nice way to treat a loooong time subscriber.
Thought I would check in to see what is up. I see SJ still can't find his way out. Also his plesent look on life seems about the same. As for me I just have not been doing much with the trains. Many reasons but nothing special.
Two years ago in about two hours I tried to remove my right foot from my leg. What a ride that has been. Being able to walk as well as I can is a true blessing and I thank GOD for that. I am too old to be a grump, just don't have time for that. I also think there is no hope for CTT and I won't go into my thoughts because no one cares anymore about mine than I do about theirs.
My son and his wife and boy came by yesterday and we all went to lunch at a nice little bar and grill in Seneca IL. Man what used to cost $6.99 three years ago was $17.00 now, Five for lunch was $108 and then a 20% tip. No wonder we eat at home. It was nice to get out, I will give it that.
So for now I will be looking for the weather to break and getting some more outside time with what time GOD gives me.
Sure miss the good old days of this place but as with everything nothing last forever. RIP to all those that have passed.

Got really neat news from the doctor's office this morning - the bug my wife and I have has a name. Influenza A. Surprise me, because we are not seeing the high temps - probably courtesy of this year's flue shots.
On the up side of this, it has given me a chance of perusing the Lionel 2024 big book that Charles Ro packed in with the 4 Hogwores coaches that were delivered recently. The cars are nice. They have LED lighting that will be interesting to see how it works.
Was considering a 20th anniversay Polar Express Berkshire and coach. Then I noticed that the 20th anniversary PE set was about $100 cheaper than the separate purchase items. Makes one think.
Those triplexes are neat - way out of my price range - but neat. As usual, there a few other items of interest. Maybe yes or maybe no
8n - Ordered the Dementors aquarium car for the grandsons. Never liked the Dementors coach and it's flickering lights. I like Charles Ro, too.

I see Fife was up early this morning 35* going to 53* today, then low 40's all day tomorrow.Taking car ( 1972 Nova ) to a closer shop to me, today to see what needs to be done about a transmission fluid leak. always something. Need to see if local Ace hardware has two 10-32 x3/8" to hang my motors in my 408E. If not HD or Lowes is next. I want to get that back together and on the shelf. Won another set of 418, 419, & 490 passenger cars last night. I need the 6 wheel trucks off of one so I can use them on my orange 418 I'm painting. wanted to finish painting that yesterday as it was suppose to be 70* but with rain that didn't work. Monday or Tuesday next week looks to be a good chance. Want to get that finished also. My bright green for doors and window trim is not a match to the other cars but close, heck even the orange is off somewhat. But it will look good I believe, and if someone has a problem it's easy, it's not yours Hope all have a good day.
Evening, not this Saturday but next Saturday, I'll be going to the Piedmont Division Model Train Show in Cartersville, GA! Looking forward to going again this year after going the last two years!
Fife - I am somewhat underwhelmed with my Dementors coach as well.
My Middle Princess is my Potter fan, and I've been eyeing that coach for some time. But my grandsons all like the aquarium cars, so it's a WIN.
I've been kinda-sorta-maybe thinking about getting a Harry Potter set to run in front of the house on Halloween when the kids come Trick-Or-Treating. I'm not really an 'Arry fan but Lady Firestorm likes the movies.
I'll keep my eye out for one at the shows, I'd prefer an older conventional tranformer control version to the newer LionChief ones. We'll see what happens.

I second that Fife, Great looking but a PITA, I had a nice set from my Uncle but that engine refused to travel over my layout with the O27 profile track and refused to cross my O42 switches. I gave the whole set to my grand daughter.
