Mooseheart passenger car name, Jan/Feb CTT Q & A

In the Jan/Feb 2022 CTT issue, the Q & A on page 20 raises the question of where the passenger car name "Mooseheart" came from, as unlike other Lionel passenger cars it is not a town name in NJ.  In the Greenbergs Guide to Lionel Trains, 1945-1969 Volume 2 Behind the scenes, the following explanation is given on page 83:

"The only exception to this common denominator is the name Mooseheart. The car was named for the home for children maintained by the Loyal Order of Moose, near Aurora Illinois. Perhaps this was the favorite charity of one of Lionel's chief executives".

HI Ed,

Many thanks for taking the time to post this answer. We have received similar responses from several CTT readers.

Happy and healthy new year,
