The NUECES EAGLE
Posted by bill613a on Thursday, October 27, 2022 8:41 PM

This past summer I picked up a piece or railroad ephemera entiled Railways Adverising Section from the November 1947 issue of Railway Age Magazine. It had many advertisements from various railroads with an emphasis on passenger equipment.  One of the larger ads featured the Missouri Pacific and listed trains in service and those on the way. One train listed as coming was the NUECES EAGLE running between Houston-Corpus Christi. I have several books on MP passenger trains and have never seen any pictures or mention of this train. I can only assume this was to be a day train and that it never got off the ground as the VALLEY EAGLE (Houston-Brownsville) shadowed it on virtually the same route. Anybody out there know about this train?
