Did not compete in any spelling bees however.
Sorry guys I couldn't resist.
Overmod(Can someone tell me what 'speach' is? Is that like Muzak for automating the inevitable string of toasts at dinner parties?)
That is a Georgian with a lisp saying the states nickname
Overmod BaltACD ... it should help one get a grip on themselves. Good entry for the 2020 Yogi Berra parody quote contest! (Can someone tell me what 'speach' is? Is that like Muzak for automating the inevitable string of toasts at dinner parties?)

charlie hebdoNo. But on this matter, I have wised up.
And I, for one, greatly respect his choice, and the thought behind it.
BaltACD charlie hebdo Maybe you should heed your little maxim yourself, Balt. Everything Joe posts, you snipe at. It's tedious. Like you are the Angel?

BaltACD 243129 BaltACD 243129 You did not answer the question so let me rephrase it. Who specifically are you referring to when you make that statement? Don't waste your time or mine. Generic statement, if the shoe fits............ You made that statement pertaining to the subject matter on this thread. Now that you have been confronted it is clear that you lack the cojones to back up what you infer and to whom you are referring to. Why am I not surprised? If you want everything to be about you - it is. If you don't it isn't. Simple concept. Idioicy is still idiocy in doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Your non answers to my direct questions attest to the fact that you have no cojones.

Thank you for the advice but excuse me for not taking it.

243129 BaltACD Idiocy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Who might you be referring to?
BaltACD Idiocy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Idiocy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Who might you be referring to?
Anyone that does the same thing over and over and over again and achieves the same results as they obtained the first, second and third times - etc.
charlie hebdo BaltACD Idiocy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. The correct saying is the definition of insanity, not idiocy.
The correct saying is the definition of insanity, not idiocy.
But that's also a distressingly similar description of the Monte Carlo method...
I concur that it is rude, and in context might well be the 'next thing' to trolling, considering the change in sense that goes with the change in word.
The correct saying is the definition of insanity, not idiocy. In either case, it's rude.
Maybe use a pseudonym and re-edit so the text no longer has your tell-tale fingerprint on it.
I don't want to sound like I am attacking you but it's pretty clear that around Amtrak corporate offices, you are about as welcome as the bubonic plague.
243129My meaning was that I tried the nicey-nice route with the company. I was explaining to Charlie that it doesn't work with Amtrak.
Sorry for assuming the worse! That's my fault entirely.
Reading between the lines of the account of the guy running the Amtrak training facility -- who should be one of Joe's principal targets, if anyone -- you have a thirtysomething sort of guy who has learned just enough that he relies on his tech people and outside 'experts' for the systems, approaches, lesson plans and methodologies, etc. that he implements in his program. You might have to learn and use some of his chosen jargon to impress him enough to adopt the things you think are important, both in the short and longer term, both as part of the training approach and in terms of providing positive learning, encouragement, etc. after they are out of 'school' but still learning every day...

Joe: Thank you for being open to my suggestions. Although your more neutral, professional approach to Amtrak (I would hesitate to call it nicy-nice!!!) did not succeed, I would advise you to not draw the wrong conclusions. One, the well was already poisoned, i.e., you could have penned a paen of praise to Amtrak management and it would have ended up in the trash before opening. Two, don't give up. As Overmod has suggested to Dave Klepper, find another route. I'm still pulling for you to succeed.
243129So as you see I tried the nicey-nice route to no avail.
Certainly NOT to no avail. He approves it. He likes it. He likes the positive approach, too. Do not be fooled by the comment on improvement; that's not intended as sarcasm -- academics and science thrive on noting and perfecting small details. Take your +1 in the generous spirit it was given, and keep working on getting Amtrak et al. to change for the better.
charlie hebdo Joe: Quite good!! Some of us might quibble about details, such as greater emphasis on cognitive abilities such as sustained attention in the vetting, but overall I like it and the tone is restrained. +1
