Today, as well as one day last week, No. 22 was disrupted. According to Amtrak, at least for today, alternate transportation was being provided from at least points south of Fort Worth to Fort Worth and Dallas.

I saw No. 21 go through Temple yesterday. It was about an hour late, but Amtrak says that it arrived in San Antonio 27 minutes late. So it appears that the train did not depart San Antonio this morning. Anyone know what happened to today's Number 22?

With the new schedule for the Sunset Limited and the through cars for the Texas Eagle, Number 422 only has 2 hours and 10 minutes to cut the through cars off the New Orleans train and couple them to Number 22. What would happen if Nos 2/422 were five hours late. Would Amtrak hold Number 22 in San Antonio for three hours or would it send the train on its way to Chicago?

Who makes the decisions regarding whether to hold a train for connecting equipment or passengers? At what point, if any, does executive management get involved in the decision. By executive management I mean an officer of the company.
