Amtrak as slow as MNRR ?
Posted by blue streak 1 on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 6:03 PM

Railway age has an article saying MNRR increasing service.  Among other services there are 3 mornings New Haven GCT expresses and 4 afternoon GCT - NHV exppresses.  They are scheduled it appears at 1:39.  Guess what Amtrak NHV <> NYP most schedules over 1:39.  Not sure how much additional mileage for Amtrak but still ???

When I hired in 1963 the Bankers Express took 1'25" New Haven to GCT with no stops. All trains to Penn Station had at least one stop, mostly two, between New Haven and Penn Station and the running time with two stops was 1'35". Progress?
