It is intended primarily for the on board service crew. However, since the crews on the long distance trains have been reduced substantially, there is sufficient space in the car to sell the roomettes if there is a demand for them.</p><p>Don't hesitate to call Amtrak every couple of week's right up to your departure date. The call is toll free if you use the 800 number. I have found that persistence pays. </p>
