San Francisco's cable cars & streetcars
Posted by NKP guy on Thursday, June 4, 2020 6:14 PM

It's been quite a while since the happy clang of the cable cars' bell has been heard on the hills of the Barbary Coast.  It's been equally long since the fleet of multi-hued PCC cars has glided up and down Market Street.

Does anyone here know what's going on at either cars' car barns?  Are the cars sitting idle with no one around?  Is any maintenance going on of any sort?

San Francisco without its cable cars or streetcars is difficult to imagine or get used to.

I'd like to know if the cable cars really do go halfway to the stars.

   Yes.

And the morning fog will chill the air.

   (I don't care.)

You will find the answers to all your questions at:

www.streetcar.org

The website of the Market Street Railway Association

An organization well worth joining.

There have been test runs during the health-recovery shut-down, and needed maintenance performed
