Kovalchick (of EBT fame) bought over half a million's worth of these in April 2012.

Nothing to see here.  A 40 year old vehicle, that has a piece of electrical equipment that has a 'normal' six year life span, that they have used for double the 'normal' life span - at present.  An I expect that the manufacturer has been either out of business and/or producing other products and have no 'assembly line' currently working on the parts needed. Duh!  Duh!  Duh!

Less that $50K per part sounds like a steal to keep a piece of tranportation equipment operating for another 2 to 4 years.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

NJ transit more troubles

NJ transit is having to order special parts for their Arrow -3s.  Possibility of failure on a part with 6 year life that are on cars for 12 years.  Another problem not fixed 6 years ago. Anyone know how actually this part is supposed to work ?
