Here's one doing its day's chores. If it sounds like a century, that's because its one, although an 'export' version - model MX627S (ok it's Bombardier, but that's a detail). As every alco around, these units are on borrowed time. From a total of 12, only 5 are operational, but still going up 6 down the high iron with freights just like this one, passing by at a respectable 60 Mph

Maybe this question is a little off topic, but, is there a state by state listing of active Alco, or Alco designed diesels? Railfan and Railroad has their state by state listing of steam engines, I just wondered if something simular existed for Alco diesels?
