There's a post in General Discussion about this, but it also concerns Steam & Preservation.
The N&W Y6a at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis is about to go to VRM; as of Wednesday it was poised on the ready track. There's been surprisingly little discussion about this (which I suppose is a good thing overall) but get your cameras ready...
(Can someone who can search Forum threads please find and post a link to the discussion about the Y6 'swap' (involving the FT B-unit and some other things) that we had earlier this year?)
STL MoT is usually quiet about large moves like this, the Y6 is on the ready track, but I'd wouldn't be suprised if it's there another 2 weeks. What ever am I to do on tours, with no Y6 to show off anymore!
When 2156 does move, the less people the better.
Will be waiting anxiously for your safe return, 2156. Until then, have fun with the family.

P.S- You take good care of her, Roanoke! And don't get any wise ideas about her and the NS steam program!
Will Trains do any live streaming of the move like they did with the Big Boy?
081552 Will Trains do any live streaming of the move like they did with the Big Boy?
Doubt it, unlike the UP 4014 move, only NS knows exactly when the locomotive will be moved. No, not even the MoT director knows exactly when.
OK, I'm depending on rail fans to be like kudzu and send in video clips.
Jim, can't you blow off a week or so of editing a magazine to follow Y6a?
