My brother and sister-in-law rode the Western Maryland Scenic last Sunday. This was our second trip on the railroad in as many years. It is one of the best steam excurisions that I have experienced.
We had a table in one of the dinning cars. Actually, it was one half of one of the double diners that ran on the PRR. The food was very good - we had the chicken salad.
The scenry was spectactular. And watching them turn the locomotive at Frostburg was an added treat. Moreover, we took advantage of a free trolly tour of Frostburg. It is a lovely community. Just the place to retire if one does not mind winter weather.
And can't you hardly wait for the articulated power?
