I would recommend a LOT more internet searching before your visit.

Lately UP and the local landowners have been very aggressively discouraging trespassers.

About the only legal place to view the Loop is from the historical monument on Woodford-Tehachapi Road ( lat / long 35.195072,-118.534726 ).

Here's a link to a Google map of key points in the area: http://g.co/maps/g7k8e

We will be in the vicinity of the Loop and would like to witness it as much as possible.  We will appreciate any and all suggestions to make our time there meaningful.    Roger S.-Colorado
