I am someone that understands the concept of rail fanning. I love the railroad just like most of you. But please all of you heed this warning!! In the past two years there have been 5 people that where killed rail fanning on the bnsf in the southwest division. All of the cases are the same. All the men where killed taking a picture of a train and they where all hit by another train that was traveling in the opposite direction on a different track. Needless to say they where standing on the opposite mainline while taking there picture. When you all are out taking pictures do not get on the tracks ever. I know that everybody wants to get that perfect picture but let this be known, there is never any reason for any of you to ever get on the tracks to take that perfect picture. Please everybody be very careful when taking your pictures of trains!!!

I just found out a good buddy of mine was on a train that hit someone who was out trying to get that perfect picture and needless to say he is still very upset from the hole experience. Knowing this man there is a very good chance that he will never get over the accident.
