This one goes back a ways In the town I grew up in, Ft wayne In, The old Wabash main out the SW side of town, crossed the Nickle Plate spur (Both now NS) out near the western city limits. At this crossing was a switch tower, long abandoned by the time I discovered it in the late 60's. And a reflective black and white sign identified it as "Hugo". There is no such town, township, or neighborhood by that name in the area. In a journey down memory lane last summer, I noticed it was all torn down, to make room for triple crown, which itself has since even moved on. But remaining was a fairly new reflective green and white sign reading "Hugo". I guess this must mean "Hugo Junction", correct? Who, or what was Hugo?
