To all who replied to my topic, thanks so much!! I haven't had access to a computer since I opened up this can of worms, but WOW is all I can say about the responses. Having worked in management for some time now, I was very surprised by UP's "Prepare to be fired(before being hired!)" attitude. Maybe it's never occurred to them that the better workers are treated, the more they tend to (gasp!) like their jobs and be more productive at them. As has been noted several times, quite a way to run a railroad. By the way, the UP H/R guy bragged about UP being #178 on the Fortune 500....so there are 177 companies better than you, right?? Terry
