Back in the dark ages when I attended West Virginia University in Morgantown the B&O had a line along the east side of the Monongahela River from Fairmont to Uniontown. A few years ago this line was abandoned with CSX using trackage rights on the Monongahela Railroad on the west side of the river. There was a branch line called the Morgantown and Kingwood Railroad that snaked through the hills to Kingwood and eventually to Rolesburg. The line went through Arthurdale of Eleanor Roosevelt fame. TRAINS did an article a couple of montha ago on the eastern end around M&K Junction but no mention was made of the rest of the line. What has happened to the line from Morgantown since the connection in Morgantown has been remeoved?
