This past weekend we were in Austin Tx, which is 30 miles north of San Marcos, the site of the derailment. Due to the liberal leaning of Austin and its proximity to San Marcos the derailment received considerable coverage. One lady was interviewed who was saying "that she was choking from the fumes from the wreck and it was not the smell of creosote or diesel" The local police stated that although seven tank cars derailed none of them leaked any material, hazardous or not. One can only wonder what this worman was smoking before the derailment. Perhaps she was lobbying for a "retirement check" from UP thanks to some sorry lawyer.
