Evening

Brother had a good time for his birthday.Went to Deshler today.Helped some people out with some information.Heard on the scanner a local was coming to deliver 1 car to the Iams plant in Leipsic.Found a unique blue switcher down there as well. Also local paper said the new fertilizer plant will be served by the NDW.Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Easter.

A wierd supply chain issue has popped up in my area of the SFBA - most stores are out of facial tissue. At least I have plenty of the round roll kind. I wonder what Mr. rvos1979 knows about this ....

After watching a few loud, rough looking domestic freight cab ride videos, I've found the relaxing views from Swedish and Norwegian electric locos. Every one I've seen is on higher speed (>120kph) track that is astoundingly quiet.

Spent most of the afternoon on the radio, making contacts throughout the province of Ontario.  It's a contest.  There's no way I'll win, but it's fun seeing how many people I can contact, and where they are.

Michigan had a similar contest.  Make some contacts there, too.

Easter at the daughter's house.

Mother Nature brought a surprise gift for Easter morning here - snow.  I double checked the date - it's not April first, so...

Kinda sucks having to wear a winter coat over your Easter finery.

Mike:  Missing supplies keep rotating at our local Kroger. Last time there almost no TP or paper towels. Sometimes almost no dairy especially frozen items.  Wife had a ice cream craving in February that was only filled at the 3rd store.

What snow didn't fall in the Midwest is due here tonight.  Some areas (higher elevations) may see a foot...  I think 3 or so inches is our outlook.  It'd be a heck of a note to finally use my snowblower in April.

The bum ankle kept me from snow removal all winter.  Fortunately, a friend kept me plowed out.

Our forecast was a bust, but the weather prognosticators were spot on to the south and into the Adirondacks - upwards of a foot of the white stuff, and a couple of power outages to boot.

The rain gauge is showing 0.81" of water - some of it was the snow we did get (maybe an inch) that melted and ran through the gauge.

Busy studying for the drone license test.  There is a LOT of information there.

Ran through a patch of horizontal sleet on a trip to Westminster in the afternoon.  Temps at 39 and wind approaching the same number.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

We're having the usual yo-yo weather where Ma Nature can't decide what season it is. Sunny and warm some days, showers at night, 15F drop the next day, oh well. Even with the recent rain the adjacent hills are rapidly turning brown, but the mustard flowers and California Poppies are in full bloom!

No outside railfanning engaged in so I finally 'pulled the trigger' on a serious computer upgrade - from 'economy' to 'midrange'. The low cost Fractal Design case arrived first and I am astounded at the high design and build quality; all my other cases are beige boxes from 2010-ish. If you want more details on the build please PM me here.

It's +70F here right now, down from around +72F.  Sunny - got some work done outside.  Unfortunately, the prognosticators say tomorrow will be cooler.

Off to the white coat tomorrow.

Western Colorado = Roads closed, near blizzard conditions

Eastern Colorado = Roads closed, range fires & flying dirt (no rain)

Pick your poison, just don't try to get anywhere.

Squirrels aren't usually my problem with hummingbird feeders.  It's the bees.

There's a debate going on in some areas about taking down feeders due to a bird flu that's going around.  I just emptied my sunflower seed barrel.  Might get more, might not.  I kinda like the goldfinches, and had a red-breasted woodpecker today (not as big as pileated, but close).  Usually all I see are downy and hairy woodpeckers.

Dinning Car and Mud Chicken.  Here is an article about corner crossing.  It also mentions that the varioous RR grants can be involved.  Never knew about that as causing possible public land access.

Corner crossing report: inaccessible public acres now 8.3M (msn.com)

Mother Nature can turn the heat up any time, now.  I think it hit just above freezing overnight, although the high here at the house was +52F.  Back down to the low forties right now.

First session of a weekend EMS conference down, now two long days.  Hope the speakers are interesting, or they're gonna be l-o-n-g days...
