Why don't RR's exploit the idea of passenger train intermodal trains??

There are some traffic lanes where you can institute overnight intermodal service to serve the trucking industry like what CP Rail does with Expressway intermodal platflorm on the Montreal to Toronto Corridor.

Maybe a change in equipment from normal TTX flats to Bimodal e.i. Roadrailer and RailRunner and change in motive power like Genesis (w/AC traction like the P32DM used on Metro North RR and Amtrak Empire service w/o the thrid rail capabilty) intstead of the do anything and everything SD70M's and Dash9-44CW's!

Does the lack of multi-track mainlines in the US preclude the RR's making an attempt at this market???
