Where can one find the most different railroad companies in a small radius? In Baltimore, Md (bordering Baltimore County), we have: Amtrak running parallel with Norfolk Southern's Bayview Yard (where the old PRR Bayview tower still stands), CSX crossing over Amtrak with a bridge, the Canton Railroad Compnay (a short line with 6 miles of line, 17 miles of track, and 30 customers) that has a RR crossing over North Point Blvd. about 1 mile away, and the Patapsco & Back Rivers RR about 6 miles away that operates inside of the ISG Sparrows Point Plant (the former Bethlehem Steel). When standing at Bayview Yard, you can actually see 3 different railroads operating (Amtrak, CSX, and Norfolk Southern). <br /> <br />5 total.
